Where we record! The Felta School was built in 1906 and served for nearly 50 years as an elementary school for rural students living on the west side of the Russian River Valley outside the town of Healdsburg. The cobble stones for its foundation were quarried from a nearby ranch, and the single room wooden structure survived the great earthquake during its construction. More than a century later it was lovingly restored by local volunteers and is now largely used as a community meeting place. The room has a very special vibe for acoustic music. We’ve been lucky enough to record Owl Country’s first album here despite occasional intrusions from songbirds, barking dogs and traffic noise.
